22ndth December:
Sowetos mini graduates
A year
after the Soweto Child Friendly Space in Jinja, Uganda was set up; they
celebrated their first ‘Graduation Day’! The eldest group of children are now
leaving to start primary school after completing their early years education at
the Centre.
This would
not have been possible a year ago, but with the provision of early childhood
learning, the Centre staff liaising with local schools to make places available
and the building of relationships with parents in order to promote the value of
education for children, this milestone has been reached.
Matilda, a
teacher at the Child Friendly Space says; “ I love working with the children.
They are the future adults of tomorrow and future politictians. Developing them
at this early age will help them to change. I just love it.”
Today is the last day of the Week 3 Isak Advent Auction. All the money bid from you wonderful people will go directly to Children on the Edge. Help us to help the charity to help these children. Please visit our ebay link and place your bid.
